Want to try a new platform to broadcast on Facebook Live from your desktop?
Great news! We can now go live on Facebook from our desktop without using complicated or super expensive technology. This new gift from heaven is BlueJeans, a cloud-based video conferencing service that was founded a few years ago for meetings, then expanded to Skype and more recently to Facebook Live. You can use it with your webcam, mobile device, video conferencing room system, or professional A/V equipment for broadcast-quality video and sound.

For an avid live streamer like me this is excellent news, it would be an ideal solution for shows or interviews. I wanted to try it immediately to see how it works so I signed up for a 30-day free trial a few weeks ago and I was granted access last week. So far I’ve been very impressed with the easy interface and the amazing features it offers. Going live on Facebook is a breeze! You can have up to 9 people on the broadcast and you can interact with them live while your audience watches the broadcast live on Facebook. Viewers can also be invited to participate with a special link during the live broadcast. Once the broadcast is over, it will stay on the page feed and you can optimize it just like a regular video post.
I’m still practicing with the platform and I did a practice session with some live streaming and social media experts yesterday to test the performance inside the BlueJeans app and on Facebook. The beauty of this tool is that you can broadcast live on your Facebook timeline, on your business page(s) or in your group(s). Lovely!
