#MondayMovesMe: Follow your light
“Don’t be afraid of the shadows that hide the light. They can only eclipse it for a short time.” ~ Roxana Jones
This is definitely a very appropriate quote for today, August 21 since we will be witnessing a total solar eclipse. As Wikipedia states, “The last time a total solar eclipse was visible across the entire contiguous United States was during the June 8,. 1918 eclipse, and not since the February 1979 eclipse has a total eclipse been visible from anywhere in the mainland United States.” Pretty cool!
I found this quote while looking for the time when the eclipse will be visible in San Diego and it stood out because it can be applied to our personal and / or professional life. We get often influenced by circumstances around us (shadows) that interfere with our path or goals (light) and they create obstacles. But when we know that these obstacles are only temporary (eclipse) and we are able to change the course of our life, then our light can shine no matter what. It’s up to us to recognize that the shadows are not strong enough to bring us down. We just need patience, perseverance, determination. We need to trust in ourselves and follow our light.
