When it’s hard to find someone happy for your success

“The worst part of success is trying to find someone who is happy for you” ~ Bette Midler

Have you ever noticed that, when you celebrate something fabulous in your life or in your career, sometimes you get no love from friends or colleagues? I think jealousy and frustration are the driving forces that prevent people to be happy about someone else’s wins, and it’s more common than ever.

You might attract the so-called “haters” who are trying to diminish your achievements, or even try to discourage you from staying on that winning path you created. However, you should not listen to these people, they’re just unhappy with their own life. Maybe they can’t reach any of their goals because… they’re obsessing about others’ celebrations.

Isn’t it wonderful to congratulate, celebrate and be proud of your friends who are reaching the top, they’re getting what they’ve been working hard on, they’re being recognized for their terrific skills and qualities? I’m extremely proud of them, and the more I surround myself with inspiring go-getters and achievers, the more driven and charged I feel. It’s a happy feeling that allows me to move forward and achieve my own goals.

There’s also the concept of community. When you engage with like-minded individuals who share the same values and objectives, you can grow together and celebrate together. The win is amplified and more good things can happen. And, if something doesn’t work along the way, you always have the support of your community. Not the presence of haters who want to bring you down every time you try.

So, next time there’s a success to celebrate (whether it’s yours or someone else’s):

  1. Get rid of jealousy and cultivate good karma when you celebrate others. Acknowledge their hard work, passion and determination that brought this victory in their life or their business. You might be next if you follow their path 🙂
  2. Don’t listen to the haters when you celebrate your wins. They’re just wasting your and their time. Continue to create awesomeness and be proud of yourself 🙂
