We all have stories to tell – What’s yours?

Last night at the Oscars it was all about #MeToo, #TimesUp, and #NeverAgain. Twitter even had its own first-ever commercial during the show that featured a poem by New York poet, writer and performer Denice Frohman. It was clearly a tribute to female empowerment with the hashtag #HereWeAre.

I was in love with the set celebrating 90 years of Oscars and I think it was the best production I’ve ever seen. Opulence and sparkle were the main decor elements and they really enhanced the festive atmosphere ✨

Frances McDormand won Best Actress in a Leading Role (congrats, very well deserved!) and her acceptance speech was my favorite. She invited all the women in the room to stand up, and she went on saying, “Look around, everybody. Look around, ladies and gentlemen. Because we all have stories to tell and projects we need financed. Don’t talk to us about it at the parties tonight. Invite us into your office in a couple of days, or you can come to ours, whichever suits you best, and we’ll tell you all about them.” I think she was extremely powerful and very practical, she extended an invitation to collaborate with female actors, producers, directors, and executives.

The concept of storytelling goes beyond Hollywood, of course. I just came back from Social Media Marketing World, one of the largest social media conferences in the United States, and it was a fantastic experience. It was my second year and I enjoyed every single minute of it. Many speakers stressed out the importance of adding your own story to your social media strategy. People want to connect personally before engaging in a business relationship, they want to know who they’re working with, they want to know who they’re buying from. Show them your story, your perspective, your journey, and they will remember you forever.

Ladies: We know how to make dreams come true. We know how to bring an idea to life. We know how to join forces and create marvelous things together. Whatever you do in your life, whatever you can contribute to our society, to our world, don’t be afraid to tell your story – we need it and we’re waiting for it!
