Life-Work Balance – Ep. 20: All about matcha for a healthy you
Today’s broadcast on Periscope was all about matcha which is one of my new favorite ingredients (and it’s good for you, too).
Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves.
Matcha means “powdered tea” and, even though a lot of people think it’s just powdered green tea, there are actually some differences between the two.
To start, you consume green tea and matcha in different ways. With traditional green tea, components from the leaves get infused into hot water (either using a tea bag or loose tea leaves), then the leaves are discarded and you drink the tea.
With matcha, you drink the actual leaves that have been grown in a particular way, then finely powdered and you traditionally mix them with liquid (it can be water or milk).
