Life-Work Balance – Ep. 24: How to create a path in your goal setting
This week’s topic is related to Principle 5, and specifically goal setting. I know, you are probably saying: “Boring!!!” Goal setting, everybody talks about it. You probably had enough of it! But, even though you are tired of listening to goal setting tips, it’s always a good thing to be reminded of what you can do to achieve more and better.

I love this quote because it sums up perfectly what we tend to do in our life when it comes to goal setting. The quote is by one of the most influential artists of all times, Michelangelo Buonarroti. He lived in the 15th century… Think about it: this tells you how humankind has always been this way! Nothing has changed since then… We tend to settle for less, we tend to stay in our comfort zone, we tend to reach for what’s close by rather than pushing ourselves beyond our limits. It’s easier, more convenient, it doesn’t involve risk, failure or extra time. And we convince ourselves “that’s the right thing to do.” But is it?
No, it’s not….. If you always stay where you are you will never improve, you will never reach what you want, you will never make any progress. And, you will always be frustrated because you can’t achieve your goals.
Did you know that approximately 92 percent of people who set their goals at the beginning of the year don’t achieve them? It’s a huge percentage!
So, how do the remaining 8 percent achieve their goals? What do they do differently?
