Life-Work Balance – Ep. 25: Ingredient substitutions for healthier desserts
Today’s topic is from Principle 1, “eat better”.
Can I be very open and honest with you? I’m a little tired to hear from almost everyone I talk to and from most of my coaching clients that there’s no time to cook, no time to prepare healthier meals because of their busy schedule, and they can’t make it happen. For that reason, they never start changing their lives. But you CAN eat better, it’s the foundation of a healthier life! You should make this a priority.
You probably know that most of our immune system resides in our intestinal tract and, when you eat better, your immune system works better. Your body and mind benefit from this and you improve your lifestyle, you increase your energy, you become more productive, you accomplish more, and you become more profitable.
A few days ago I posted a Boomerang on my social media accounts for Fourth of July. I was eating a blueberry popsicle that I made the night before. Some followers connected with me privately and asked me: “How can you share a video of you eating ice cream when you always tell us that we need to eat healthier? Don’t you know that’s a lot of sugar? You should know better!” And my response was: “Don’t you know that there are healthy ingredients that you can use? Read the entire post and you will see the list!”
I used blueberries, coconut milk, yogurt, and chia seeds (and a little honey). No refined sugar, no bad ingredients!
So, eating better is key. And, the reality is, you can start from your favorite recipes and just substitute ingredients with healthier options. I promise you, you won’t have to sacrifice taste and enjoyment.
