Life-Work Balance – Ep. 27: How to stay in shape while traveling

Are you traveling this summer? Maybe you are on the road for business, maybe you are visiting new exotic places, or maybe you have kids and they want to be entertained during their summer break …

Today we’ll be talking about how to stay in shape when you travel. Many people think they will need to give up their gym workout but, with a few tweaks, you can still exercise and get the healthy benefits during your trip wherever you are.

First, let me give you a quick list of things to pack:
– Sneakers (you can walk easily on any terrain)
– Exercise clothing (it makes it more comfortable to work out)
– Jump-rope (this can be very helpful in small spaces like your hotel room, and it doesn’t take much space in your suitcase)
– Yoga mat (so that you can exercise pretty much anywhere)
– Headphones (I personally exercise better when I listen to my favorite music)

Please watch the broadcast replay below where I shared 4 tips on how to work out while traveling (yes, you can do something healthy if you drive or take a train, or you fly) and while staying at different locations, whether it’s the beach, the mountains, or a big city.

Always remember to pay attention to what you eat (this can be extremely difficult when you’re traveling between airplane meals and no available supermarkets). Try to focus on real meals, eat a lot of vegetables, and skip the awful snacks, processed foods and empty calories as much as you can.

Also, don’t sacrifice sleep. Try to keep your sleep cycle consistent even if you’re traveling to different time zones. This is very important to keep your body and your mind in shape.
Remember, Life-Work Balance encompasses different areas: eating, sleeping, exercising, and self-care. You should always pay attention to each of them in order to live a balanced personal and professional life.
