Elimination Diet: Why and How (Video) – Episode 23 of Your Weekly Dose of Life-Work Balance

In this week’s video, I shared details and tips on how to do an elimination diet to find out whether you have sensitivities or intolerances to certain foods. Watch below!

Do you ever suffer from gastrointestinal symptoms, brain fog, joint pain, mood swings, headaches, or chronic skin conditions? These seem unrelated symptoms, but often they’re not. They are a sign that something is brewing in your body, and specifically in your digestive tract.

Our bodies have the incredible power to keep us healthy, but we need to give them the tools to do so. Food plays a key role, but nutrition can be a complicated issue as we’re all different, and foods that are great for me might not have the same effect on you and vice versa. Certain foods can help reduce chronic inflammation while others can actually cause it or make existing inflammation worse by activating immune responses, impacting our everyday life, and leading us down a road of chronic disease.

So, what does an elimination diet have to do with this? It might help you discover foods that cause immune responses and they’re bad for you, especially for your gut microbiome. You might remember Episode 11 of this video series where I talked about the connection between our digestive tract and our brain thanks to the gut-brain axis. It’s all connected!

In the video I talked about the differences between allergies, sensitivities, and intolerances, the three steps of the elimination diet, and tips to be successful with it.

The elimination diet is one of the interventions I suggest in my signature coaching program, LIFE-WORK BALANCE, as it can help my clients feel better so they can live and work better. The program helps you master different areas such as nutrition, movement, sleep, stress/anxiety/burnout, self-care, and make time for important things with customized lifestyle changes.

Life-Work Balance is focused on the body-brain connection, and it combines epigenetics with neuroscience and positive psychology, allowing you to optimize your well-being while you boost your energy and focus, and increase your productivity and performance. During the program, I’ll help you create habits and maintain momentum so that you can achieve your goals better and faster.
