If you are one of those people who went back to the office after the pandemic, you’re probably having a harder time to stay active – compared to working from home – because you have less distractions (such as house chores, kids, etc.), and you probably have your managers right there with you, so you don’t want to show that you’re doing something different during your work hours. So, your priority is to work on your tasks all the time, and that means less movement because you’re probably seated at your desk for long hours.
But sitting is the new smoking, and it brings health risks if it is done for extended periods. The average adult in US offices or other sedentary settings sits for an average of 10 hours per day. This is crazy! Sitting can impair your metabolic function, weaken your bones, harm your blood vessels, and as a result, shorten your life span.
