Is NSDR Good for You? (Video) – Episode 43 of Your Weekly Dose of Life-Work Balance

In this video, I share tips to help you achieve calm through mental focus with NSDR, or Non-Sleep Deep Rest. If you never heard about this technique, I’m glad you’re here. Watch below!

Everybody I talk to, from clients to friends, is exhausted! And I’m not surprised: we juggle life and work, we’re living in difficult times, and there’s never enough time to dedicate to family, to ourselves, and to sleep. Plus, our bodies work behind the scenes for us 24 hours a day to keep us healthy and thriving. It’s easy to get exhausted, mentally and physically.

So, what can we do to maintain our optimal levels of energy … and stay sane? There are different strategies and one of the most recent ones is NSDR, or Non-Sleep Deep Rest.

Neuroscience Professor Andrew Huberman from Stanford University School of Medicine, coined this acronym and he has been studying and practicing it for several years. This practice is about achieving calm with a state of deep rest by focusing on breathing or visualization, and you effectively “recharge your brain.” And you can basically do this while you immerse yourself in a meditation session, you practice yoga nidra, or even with hypnosis.

In the video, I talked about the multiple benefits of NSDR, plus an easy process to get familiar with NSDR and stay consistent with the practice for optimal results.
