How to Boost Your Brain (Video) – Episode 48 of Your Weekly Dose of Life-Work Balance

In this video, I shared some ideas to keep your brain healthy, smart, super-efficient, and happy for the rest of your life. Watch below!

Our bodies and brains are tightly connected: they’re more like a system, not two separate entities. And if we want to keep our brain young and sharp, we have to keep it healthy. So, make sure you focus on healthy habits regarding your nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and self-care (I shared many tips in past videos of the series) to increase your cognition, your attention span, memory, and decision-making skills, as well as engaging in mental stimulation, or activities that challenge the way you process information. In doing so, you are also delaying or even preventing cognitive decline and those scary neurodegenerative diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Despite what we may have studied decades ago, our brain is plastic, and it always changes itself. Remember: A healthy brain can remain fully capable for the majority of a person’s life span, as long as we embrace the appropriate daily habits in our life, and we give it the necessary stimuli to keep the mechanisms and processes actively engaged. In the video, I listed some ideas that you can add to your daily routines to keep your brain active (in addition to well-known strategies such as crossword puzzles or board games), and your brain will thank you!
