Why choose a word of the year – New Series: Your Monthly Dose of Life-Work Balance

I’m very excited to announce my new video series, Your Monthly Dose of Life-Work Balance, where I will share valuable tips, tools, and strategies to be more in control of your life and to inspire you to become a better version of yourself.

In this video, I help you choose a word of the year based on your values, intentions, goals, or whatever speaks to you. Watch below!

Maybe you’re not sold on this “word of the year” thing, maybe you think it’s a little silly, but it’s a very powerful way to help you focus on the goals and actions you want to work on during the year, what you want to be motivated about, to skyrocket your personal growth and to help you determine your priorities, whatever they may be: career, family, finances, etc. I would say, it’s an exercise that you should try.

The word you choose can guide you while you work on your goals, and it can also help you remember what is important whenever you find yourself stuck or hitting an obstacle in your life.

As a holistic precision life coach, my focus is on the whole individual: physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual. When I work with clients, I take different factors into account since our bodies have interconnected systems, and our daily life can influence many of them simultaneously. This is the concept of epigenetics (the impact of our lifestyle choices on gene expression) which is one of the modalities in my coaching practice.

I always check on my clients’ lifestyle habits: what they’re eating and when, how much water they’re drinking, how often they’re moving their body, their sleep patterns, their stress levels, how much time they dedicate to themselves, their mental health, if they have support from a community, etc. Then, I help them reframe their priorities and optimize their natural resources to rebalance different areas with customized lifestyle changes. By doing so, they shift from “human doings” to “human beings.” As a result, they become more successful in their profession, they make quality time with their families and friends, they boost their happiness, and they feel better.

This is why I chose BEING as my word for 2023. Being is the essence of life and success, happiness and satisfaction, not only for ourselves but also for those around us. I’ve always inspired my clients to BE more in their lives so that they can DO better, and my hope for this year is to be able to inspire each of you by BEING a little more.

Watch the video for tips on how to choose your word of the year, to help you stick with it, and alternatives if you don’t want to be limited to only one word.

If you’d like to get personalized assistance and guidance while you create your personal and professional goals, or maybe you want to offer this experience to your team or employees, you might be interested in my New Year New You Workshop.

These are 2-hour or 4-hour events for individuals or groups where we go through different steps:

  • Year-End Reflection where I encourage you to reflect on your life, both personally and in your main role or occupation (this can be your business, career, parenting, caregiving, or volunteering) with different prompts. We think about your wins and accomplishments, things you are proud of, and then the challenges or obstacles you may have encountered, why things didn’t go as planned or didn’t materialize. In group settings, the participants engage with each other and share their experiences.
  • Aligning, Brainstorming, Refining, and Visualizing. Here, I help you come up with goal ideas from different angles and covering different areas of your life. Once you have identified your goal ideas, I help you make them specific, measurable, attainable, relevant or realistic, and time-based (according to the SMART criteria), and then I help you take action, stay motivated, and maintain momentum throughout the year with certain strategies. Again, in group settings, the participants share their goals and help each other with ways to stay on track with them.

You can find more information at the link above, and you can always schedule a complimentary Clarity Call with me to discuss more in detail and see if this workshop is the right solution.
