My word for 2026: PHOENIX
Every December, I choose a word of the year as a way to stay intentional about who I’m becoming and how I want to live and work.
Last year, that word was Growth, and it delivered fully:
- It stretched me personally and professionally.
- It challenged assumptions I didn’t realize I was still carrying.
- It pushed me to make decisions that required courage and self-trust.
Honestly, I didn’t think I could elevate myself much further than where I already was. But that’s usually when life opens a new door… Does this ever happen to you as well?
This year, something different (clearer, stronger, more grounded) is calling. This is why my word for 2026 is PHOENIX. The Phoenix rises because she’s ready for more, and that’s exactly how this new year feels to me.
Phoenix represents several things for me:
The end of a long cycle of inner work
2025 was educating, clarifying, and expansive. I learned a lot about myself, about leadership, and about what alignment really looks like when you live life fully daily. Each step reconnected me with my own inner drive and sense of purpose.
A huge shift in identity
One of the most impactful decisions I made last year was letting my gray hair come in. I even documented the journey in a YouTube series, Goals, Gray, and Growth, sharing month-by-month reflections and practical strategies that you can use to stay focused, track progress, and grow toward your own goals.
What started as a personal, almost practical choice became something much bigger: a symbol of authenticity, confidence, leadership, and comfort in my own skin.
At the time, it didn’t feel connected to growth or evolution in any obvious way. But looking back, it was anything but small: that decision became a powerful act of alignment. It asked me to release outdated expectations, question external standards, and feel comfortable in who I am without explanation. It marked a shift toward a more authentic version of myself that values clarity and self-trust over performance. That decision alone felt like a rebirth.
Shedding what no longer fits
This included old fears and doubts, outdated beliefs, and patterns that once served a purpose but don’t belong in my life anymore. Growth always requires letting something go. Every goal asks you to release an old version of yourself along the way, and when you do, it feels amazing because you can elevate yourself to a higher level.
Building something new
I don’t know exactly what 2026 will bring, and that is okay. There’s a solid foundation under my feet, built over years of learning, refining, and doing the work. From that place, creating what’s next feels natural.
Phoenix is an invitation to myself, and to you:
- An invitation to stay open.
- An invitation to allow your identity to evolve.
- An invitation to become the version of yourself that you’ve been preparing for, even if you don’t have all the answers yet.
Transformation is always intentional. And when the timing is right, it is very empowering. Let’s rise with clarity, confidence, and purpose!
