I was a guest on the #IrishWeddingChat Twitter chat
I recently had the privilege to chat with the #IrishWeddingChat community on Twitter. The host, Jagdeep Sahans, is the owner of Soul-Scribe, a bespoke calligraphy studio in Ireland, and a wonderful woman: I could spend hours speaking with her! She started #IrishWeddingChat for the wedding community years ago, and it’s been a very successful one on Wednesdays at 3 pm EST / 12 pm PST.
The official Twitter account, @IrishWeddingChat, connects brides and grooms-to-be with Irish wedding services, suppliers, and venues.
The topic was Brain Fitness/Wellness and Life-Work Balance.
If you missed the chat, no worries! Below is the recap for you.
Q. 1: @SabrinaCadini • How does Life-Work Balance relate to our amazing brain? #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance pic.twitter.com/tF1tQ0n3lA
— Irish Wedding Chat (@WeddingChatIre) May 20, 2020
A1 (1/3): Body and brain are tightly connected – they should be considered as a system, not two separate entities. Our lifestyle choices have a huge influence on our brain’s performance and wellness #irishweddingchat #lifeworkbalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A1 (2/3): Mindset, focus, clarity, positivity, and follow facilitate our overall success: physical, mental, professional, financial. A well-functioning brain create more opportunities for success in each aspect of life. #irishweddingchat #lifeworkbalance

A1 (3/3): it’s very important the we optimize our bodies and our brains before anything else so that we can achieve balance and get anything we desire in life and in business #irishweddingchat #lifeworkbalance

Q. 2: @SabrinaCadini • How does stress play a role in brain wellness? #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance pic.twitter.com/QzCxDCxing
— Irish Wedding Chat (@WeddingChatIre) May 20, 2020
A2 (1/5): Stress is not bad – a natural response to protect us from threats – but how we react to it can harm us. Cortisol and adrenaline get released during a stress response. Once the threat has passed, hormone levels return to normal. #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A2 (2/5): when it becomes chronic, overexposure to cortisol weakens the immune system, kills brain cells in the hippocampus (reducing memory function), and stops the formation of new neurons #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A2 (3/5): Overexposure causes a continuous inflammatory response in our brain, as a result, chemicals and other toxins can enter the brain through a weakened blood-brain barrier and alter its delicate structure #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A2 (4/5): chronic stress can also reduce the production of serotonin and dopamine, two important chemical messengers. This can lead to anxiety, depression, addictions, other mental illnesses #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A2 (5/5): Learn how to recognize the early warnings of stress before it’s too late: https://t.co/KPidHGzHA8 #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance

Q. 3: @SabrinaCadini • What are the best foods and fluids to nourish our brain? #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance pic.twitter.com/ZsyAXv3oak
— Irish Wedding Chat (@WeddingChatIre) May 20, 2020
A3 (1/5): Whole, nutrient-dense, organic foods rich in vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients. Stay away from refined sugar as it’s a neurotoxin. Read labels carefully since different types of sugar are hidden in many store-bought foods and drinks #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A3 (2/5): Colorful vegetables & fruits (eat the rainbow), protein (grass-fed meat, wild-caught fish, pasture eggs), healthy fats (nuts, olive oil, avocados), complex carbs (non-glutinous grains, sweet potatoes, beans), herbs & spices #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A3 (3/5): 80-85% of the mass of the brain is comprised of water, so proper hydration is necessary. When our body loses just 1-2% of its water content, this is equivalent to a 5% decrease in cognition. #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A3 (4/5): Water is best as it has multiple benefits for your overall health besides hydration: it supports electrical activity of the brain, removes metabolic waste, helps transfer oxygen and nutrients, and more #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
A3 (5/5): Green tea is an excellent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory beverage thanks to its polyphenols, and juicing can be an excellent way to help detoxify and support oxygenation. #IrishWeddingChat #LifeWorkBalance
— Sabrina Cadini, CHLC, CBFC (@SabrinaCadini) May 20, 2020
